This being a mining district much drinking was carried on among the workmen. Frazier became so frequently under the influence of liquor that his wife refused to live with him longer and went to Hiteman to live with Mrs. Smith, her sister. This desertion angered Frazier to such a degree that he followed her and killed her and her child, and es- caped to the woods. The citizens were soon aroused and pursuit began. prev     next
